ABSTRACT
Bamboo has remarkable properties as a construction material, being both light weight and extremely strength and durable Bamboo having considerable tensile and compressive strength as a construction material is used wide.
This paper contains various methods to improve sustainability of bamboo by using various ratios of mortars and concrete. It also includes reinforcement of bamboo in concrete .the construction of bamboo housing along with various layouts and plannings.The various type of bamboo joints to resist compressive forces are also discussed in detail and this paper also includes the decorative articles made of bamboo. Environmental significance of bamboo housing and various methods to preserve bamboo materials are also described.
